Don’t Let Menopause Affect Your Sex Life: Try MonaLisa Touch

Some women start menopause later than other women, but a few things remain constant. Menopause is the end result of a woman’s ovaries ceasing to produce two important sex hormones: estrogen and progesterone. It occurs naturally and is often referred to as the “change of life.”

Some of the symptoms of menopause include a change in periods, trouble sleeping, and vaginal dryness. Vaginal dryness can lead to significant issues in a menopausal woman’s sex life, including painful intercourse.

If this describes you, relief is available. You can have a normal and healthy sex life, despite the very real changes occurring in your body. MonaLisa Touch® is an innovative procedure that can restore healthy sexual function, and it’s one of the vaginal revitalization treatments offered by experienced urogynecologist Dr. Uzoma K. Nwaubani here at NUWA WORLD in Wildwood, Florida.

Dr. Nwaubani and our professional staff have the experience and expertise to help you enjoy your sex life again.

What is MonaLisa Touch?

MonaLisa Touch is a gentle, minimally invasive treatment that doesn’t require hospitalization or an overnight visit. It can be done in the safety of our office. The MonaLisa Touch technology consists of radiofrequency laser therapy that’s directed at the tissues of your vaginal wall. It works by generating new collagen and elastin.

How does MonaLisa Touch work?

MonaLisa Touch is a procedure that can be performed here in Dr. Nwaubani’s office, and it should only take about five minutes. During the procedure, you’re likely to be in stirrups, similar to those used in pelvic exams. Your NUWA WORLD provider then uses the laser to make tiny cuts on the inside of your vaginal walls to help stimulate the growth of new blood vessels as well as collagen and elastin. These improve the function of your vaginal walls and relieve the dryness by restoring elasticity as well as the ability to produce moisture.

After the procedure

As with any medical procedure, there may be some nominal side effects. You may feel some soreness, but this won’t prevent you from resuming your regular daily activities. Dr. Nwaubani may recommend that you wait at least 2-3 days before resuming sexual activity. At a minimum, you’ll likely have to come back for maintenance visits at least once a year.

If you’re considering MonaLisa Touch treatment, schedule a consultation with Dr. Nwaubani at NUWA WORLD to help you determine if the procedure is right for you. Please give us a call or schedule your appointment directly using our online booking tool.
